ORIGIN / HISTORY

  • Scientific species name revoluta means “rolled back”
  • Reported from Namibia and South Africa
  • This genus languished unsung for nearly two centuries, before it was brought back to life again by Larry Leach (Journal of South African Botany)
  • Winter rainfall area of western and northern Cape, particularly in districts like Clanwilliam and Lutzville, South Africa
  • Grows under bushes
