Agave

The genus Agave from the Ancient Greek agauê is primarily known for its succulent and xerophytic species that typically form large rosettes of strong, fleshy leaves. Agaves are now more universally accepted as belonging to the family Agavaceae along with related genera, Yucca, Furcraea, Hesperaloe, Bravoa and a few other genera on the list.
