Most exotic plants are included in caudiciform category. A typical caudiciform succulent has an enlarged, partially aboveground tuberous body called a caudex, with more or less ordinary roots below and relatively slender stems and leaves above. Many caudiciforms loose their leaves and stems annually, while the caudex slowly grows and many develop an outer cover decorated by spines or deep fissures and ridges. Examples are Adenia, Adenium and certain Euporbias etc
