the type locality is Zwartkops river, north-west of Port Elizabeth near the ocean side.
second distribution-area is a 100km east in the neighbourhood of Grahamstown.
medium to full sun but not in the harshest heat of summer.
well-draining mineral substrate/growing medium.
very slow-growing.
frost tender.
water once per week spring to summer, winter refrain from watering.
