Copiapoa, a genus of flowering plants in the cactus family Cactaceae, is found in dry coastal areas, particularly in the Atacama Desert of northern Chile. This Genus was named after the town of Copiapo, in Chile. Annual rain is very low in the habitat. There are 29 known species.
