Grower: very slow-growing winter species

Light: sunny position

Water: water sparingly during summer, and keep dry in winter

Soil type: in its natural habitat it grows in sandveld areas with deep red aeolian sands on lower loamy slopes

 

ORIGIN / HISTORY

  • Short-stemmed (dioecious = having male and female reproductive organs in separate individuals) succulent shrublet
  • Habitat is in the Little Karoo and Southern Cape area of South Africa
  • In some localities, this species grows together with Euphorbia esculenta and Euphorbia ferox
