  • Sedum clavatum is known only from one locality, the gorge of the Tiscalatengo River in the vicinity of Villa Guerrero, an area in the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt at southeast of the Nevado de Toluca in the southern part of the state of Mexico.
  • prefers light shade with ample airflow.
  • Once strong enough it can be exposed to bright light exposure to maintain dark spiny-like tips and compact form.
  • well-draining gritty succulents substrate/growing medium.
  • in the original habitat it grows along the cliffs of the canyon.
  • the specific epithet comes from the Latin word “clava” meaning “club” for the baseball shape of the sepals.
