Grower: late winter to early summer, frost tender

Light: medium sun  exposure, not too much direct sun for this species, in winter in more higher light exposure.

Water: From spring to fall, water when top inch (2.5cm) of growing medium feels dry. Reduce water in colder winter period.

Soil type: well-draining succulent medium

 

ORIGIN / HISTORY

  • Native to the rocky, arid, and semi-desert woodlands of the Iringa Escarpment in Tanzania.
  • Rocky outcrops in Miombo woodland. This species is identified by its blue-green, thorn-lined, and often variegated stems.
  • Critically endangered due to habitat loss.
